We all carry something.
A memory we rarely speak of.
A wound we hide behind laughter.
A version of ourselves we’ve quietly outgrown.

Some of us carry heartbreaks wrapped in silence.
Some… regrets that visit before sleep.
And some carry the heavy weight
of being misunderstood for far too long.

No one walks through life unscarred.
No one travels light forever.

So, when someone sits across from us,
eyes a little tired, heart a little guarded —
may we choose gentleness over judgment?

Not everyone needs fixing.
Some of us just need space to breathe.
To be seen without questions.
Held without conditions.

Because healing is messy, tender, and beautifully unfinished.

Sometimes, it’s just being allowed
to unpack one memory, one fear,
one unspoken truth… without flinching eyes.

Maybe what we need isn’t someone to solve the mess —
but someone who stays close
while we slowly learn to put the pieces down.

One bag.
One bruise.
One story at a time.

  1. A beautifully written piece that lingers long after you read it.
The lines — “A memory we rarely speak of. A wound we hide behind laughter. A version of ourselves we’ve quietly outgrown.” — truly touched me. Sarika, you have captured the quiet, often unspoken parts of our emotional journey with such simplicity and honesty. It felt deeply personal yet universally relatable. A short read, but incredibly powerful. Would love to read more from your articles.
